Type Locality and Naming
Along the Sarykeriz village, Shokhetau mountain, N. Nuratau ridge. R.R. Usmanov et al. in 1991 when compiling the reference legend for the geological map of the North-Nurata region. Stratotype approximately 2 km southwest of the Sarykeriz village.
Synonym: Sarykeriz Suite, Сарыкияская св.
Lithology and Thickness
Gray, dark gray calcareous, carbonaceous-clayey, silty (aleurolitic) slates with layers of siltstone (aleurolites) and clayey limestones. Thickness no more than 200m.
Relationships and Distribution
Lower contact
Contacts are tectonic.
Upper contact
Contacts are tectonic.
Regional extent
Northern Nuratau ridge, Shokhetau structure, in tectonic scales. The lower part of the suite is an age and lithological analogue of the Kyzkolsay Fm; the upper part - the East-Daristan Fm, exposed in the Mikhin-Daristan structure.

Fossils
In the lower part contains Wenlock graptolites - Monograptus (Testograptus) testis Barr., Cyrtograptus sp., Monoclimacis fleminge (Salter.); in the upper part - Ludlow graptolites - Neodiversograptus nilssoni (Lapw.), Pseudomonoclimacis ausykensis Abd., Bohemograptus bohemicus (Barr.), Lobograptus crinitus (Wood.), L. scanicus (Tullb.) and others (4; 6; 165).
